I have a PS3, and I don’t get to play much, but I recently stopped by the local gamestop and saw Gran Tourismo for like $15. Now we’re talking.
Does Oppo GT6? Should I consider it for the cheap price, and start learning it? I’m not much of a gamer, but could be persuaded by Oppo when I’m not shooting things in Borderlands with my girlfriend.
Inform me. I also have a SteamBox, but that’s a different story for a different day.

Steamboxes are real? I thought they were just a myth to scare children.

I love racing games but borderlands with gf > any racing game. That’s our shit. That and minecraft.

I’m really at a loss with minecraft. I downloaded it, played it a bit. I can’t see to get anywhere with it. I built a giant tower into the sky and found some villagers but I can find a mine that has any value.
Why is there a desert?
Now I want to play it and explore some more. Damn you mine craft. Anyone know how to heard livestock into my pen? I just push them around while they make noises at me.

My video game world starts and ends with GTA 3 and GT3 for PS2

I used to work at a computer shop and played with the idea of actually becoming a partner and building custom Steam boxes. It’s a very niche market like the nVidia Tegra stuff...it’s abilities are currently super limiting and not all games work. Controller mapping is tough, the interface is a little buggy, but yeah....they are very real. I just kept my Steambox unit and decided to leave it as is. It’s not horrible, but nothing to write home about either.

GT6 is good. Not amazing, but good. I don’t get to play much these days, but I miss it.

I juggled with the idea of getting one but it ended up costing £1200 so I said screw it and bought an Xbox One and a refurbished gaming PC instead, had enough left over to get a new phone too.

Any PSN games suggested? Looking to play with Oppo potentially, but I haven’t turned my PS3 on in a long time. Looking to get a spare just in case (I like my fat first gen), but on those rare occasions I’m home and available...

Yeah, I didn’t build a high end one, I built a pretty low end one, but honestly, it’s a good thing I can just re-purpose the machine to whatever I want if I so please. I built it myself, so it’s just my HTPC running SteamOS. No strings attached, really...I think it cost me $500 all in...

Something I play more than I expected to, and probably out of nostalgia, is the PSN release of Daytona USA. Its a port/visual upgrade, and it’s pretty good for silly arcade racing fun.
Edit: I feel ya on having a spare. My fat one is solely for SACD...um...use now. I have a 2nd gen one as my main, with a nice big drive in it for storing movies and stuff locally.

Xbox 360, ps3, xbone, or ps4? If you have 360 I’d be more than happy to help you out. It took us a few worlds to get the hang of it and we had to restart due to a lag glitch but it’s still a pretty good game. As to your specific question, cows and sheep follow wheat, chickens follow wheat seeds, pigs follow carrots, and you need a saddle plus carrot on a stick for horses. Also fish for cats, bones for dogs.
The variations in biomes (like desert) can lead to some very interesting maps depending on the look you’re going for. Also if you hate deserts I’m sure there’s many seeds that are entirely lacking.

A few of us play fairly often.

I guess I’ll swing by and pick it up and see how it works. Shame to have my nice TV just sitting all the time because I never have time to even watch a movie most days.

It’s doesn’t have an online component unless you get the PS4 version but have you played the Last of Us yet?

I have not. My extent of gaming is super limited because I normally find video games to be a chore. It’s not something I normally want to sit down and do. Lately I’m on a short kick, but I’m also getting slammed with work at the same time. Not a good combination. I’ll probably work on the HEMIWagon a little, stop by the mall, get the game and then head home and re-arrange my upstairs media center to squeeze my PS3 in and play around with GT6. I definitely don’t plan on dropping the coin on a PS4 right now, not with everything else I want to have done in the HEMIWagon. It certainly comes first as far as the budget goes. Wavetracs don’t grow on trees.

360.
I’ll have to try the wheat trick. I tried to plant them wheat seeds and I failed miserably. Used a hoe to turn the grass to dirt and tried to plant them. Nothing.

Completely understand man, real-life stuff comes first (glad to hear there’s progress on the wagon btw). I have a PS3 and GT6 as well so if you ever want to play just post on Oppo about it, like JayhawkJake said there’s more than a few people on here who play and it’d be cool to get a lobby going sometime.
Will say this about the Last of Us though: as a PS3 owner you must play it at some point. It’s by far and away one of the very best games ever made and it’s nowhere near a chore to complete thanks to the brilliant story and characters. Seriously cannot recommend it enough.

There has to be a water square within like 3-4 squares of ground to plant most things.
What’s your GT?

I love GT6, and I loved GT5 before it. They don’t evolve enough but they’re quality games, and they’re really as good as it gets on PS3. Haven’t played Project Cars yet on PS4.
I’d recommend it. But maybe they’re more up my alley, I like Japanese cars a lot, and they’ve got a lot of variety in there when it comes to the Japs.
